Jody & Rob

Yachats, Oregon is truly one of the most magical places I have ever been. Jody & Rob picked the perfect location for their west coast elopement. I have known Rob and Jody for some time now and I was more than thrilled to be a part of their wedding day. After being together for what seems like ages they finally got engaged! That all changed very quickly once the pandemic hit and they had to change their plans completely (after moving a big wedding from Minnesota to Oregon). I have known Jody for about 8 Years now and if there’s anything I know about her is that she is a planner, and a good one at that. She evolved and changed the plans beautifully and thought of every detail down to the cake that she baked herself (and honestly, 5 star cake, it was amazing).

Jody and Rob have been dear friends of mine for some time, and dear friends to my partner, Gabe, too. Rob actually was roommate with Gabe during college and they have been buds ever since. Ironically enough I got to know Jody in a completely different setting. We had worked together, and she was always so loving and kind when it came to inviting me out with her fiends. 3 years later Gabe and I were together and 6 years later Rob and Jody were engaged. Time sure does fly but friendships last forever.

Anyone who knows Rob and Jody knows how active they are with their friends. They are constantly diving into game nights, bonfires, house parties (when we could gather), cooking nights etc. So, when the news hit that they couldn’t gather with all of their best friends and family for their wedding, it really stung, a lot. With that being said, Yachats, in my opinion, was exactly where they needed to get married. It was exactly them (felt like it was straight out of a Game of Thrones episode) and it was the perfect farewell to Oregon for them, after living in the beautiful state for a couple years. It was a bittersweet goodbye but the perfect send off into their new life together.

The pictures below will not even do the weekend justice. It was something that was felt in the room, and around the happy couple. From the dancing, the yard games, the runners that Jody’s mom had made, the cake (!!), and the immense amount of laughter that filled the room etc. I was truly honored to not only be MOH for Jody, but also do her hair / makeup, and her florals. It was really a gift to myself that she trusted me so much and wanted me to be such a big part of her day. Before she walked down the aisle to Rob, I looked in her eyes and started crying, murmuring to her how much I love her. She has been in my life through so many ups and downs and I was so incredibly lucky to be by her side for such a massive up for Jody. I will continue to Cheer on Rob and Jody and I am lucky enough to call them both friends of mine.

Wishing the two of them a lifetime of happiness and good times!
